General InformationInsuranceIf you or your spouse has a Dental Insurance Plan, please feel free to bring your booklet to your next appointment so that we may help you understand your coverage. Insurance coverage is an agreement between the insurance company and the patient, and varies from patient to patient; therefore we do not accept payment from the insurance company. It is illegal for a dental office to overcharge your insurance or not to claim the balance from you. We will gladly provide you with your required dental insurance forms. You will then be reimbursed by your insurance carrier according to your coverage Our computerized office enables us to submit your insurance claims electronically, thereby providing your insurer with the information necessary to process your claim as quickly as possible. However, not all insurers accept electronic claims and we advise our patients to confirm such acceptance with their insurance company. Dentists are not informed of changes to dental plans. Since there are hundreds of different plans in this province alone, it is impossible for us to be aware of all the details in each plan. We ask that you please keep us as up to date as possible on any changes to your address, telephone numbers, email addresses and your dental insurance information. We are here to help you in any way that we can with your dental claims. Estimates for major restorative treatment will be sent to your insurance company to verify coverage availability before required treatment begins. Unfortunately, dental insurance does not always provide coverage with your dental health in mind. It is rare that insurance will cover the full cost of dental treatment. We will always diagnose treatment in the best interest of your dental and overall health, not your insurance as our primary concern.
