Allografts

An allograft is a graft from a person other than the recipient. In dentistry, we mainly use it for the gums. In fact, some adults have a gum recession problem, which causes loss of teeth in the long run. To counter this problem, we resort to a graft.

Advantages of allograft vs. autologous graft (coming from the recipient):

• Single surgical site (only on the recipient site)
• Minimal discomfort after the procedure
